OUR FAVOURITES
NATURALLY SIMPLE
Seeing an opportunity to recycle and make beautiful things from the leftover woods from the production process, John began turning bowls on a lathe at the start of 2019. After making beautiful bowls and experimenting for a while, John gifted them to family and friends. With such a positive response the idea began to try markets to sell the makes.
Gemma designed some shapes suitable to make into earrings from leftover woods, having them cut out on the CNC machine.
After some discussions in late 2022; John and Gemma wanted to collaborate to sell the recycled wood products at local markets.
Experimenting with different useable items that people would gravitate to, both for the high quality woods, purpose and beauty of the natural grains.
They designed and made chopping boards of different sizes and shapes, offering personalization, suited to birthday or wedding presents. Making tea lights, singular and of different designs and finishes. Ying and yang style tea light holders. Dried flower Holders.
After a few months of attending local markets we are very interested in hearing what people want Heart wood to make. Listening to customers has increased our range of chopping boards we offer. Small to extra Large. Different handles. We are always open to what people want us to make from the recycled wood.
